"Oh, Mr. President, do not let so great an achievement suffer from any taint of legality."

-Attorney General Philander Knox

Nothing breaks barriers in history quite the way the Panama Canal broke through a country. Overcoming enormous obstacles, 75,000 workers literally cut-through a country. Throughout this undertaking,  several barriers were broken, but I will explain two: political feats; and major health innovations. Overall, building the Panama canal affected hundreds of thousands of people, and continues to effect lives today.

Welcome to the jungle of Panama.
